Zaki
Zaki lives with and cares for his mother, Forhat, in South London. As a director, he is involved with For Brian both in a professional capacity - providing financial and bookkeeping support - and in his capacity as someone with lived experience as a young carer.
Zaki was particularly attracted to For Brian because of its values of co-production and co-operation and is keen to be part of an organisation building an inclusive and diverse community.
Forhat
Forhat Rahman is a retired teaching assistant from South London who was diagnosed with dementia in 2016.
Forhat wrote poetry in her youth in Bangladesh and since moving to the UK in the 1980s she has written in both English and Bangla. Her poetry was featured in the Alzheimer's Society's Carols at Christmas concert in 2018 and was part of Transport for London's Poems on the Underground programme during 2019's Dementia Action Week.

Since her diagnosis Forhat has also found new ways to be creative and to positively adjust to her life with dementia. Through for For Brian she has become involved in various activities including the inclusive yoga classes at YogiYoga in Wandsworth
